Often the titles of my videos have little or nothing to do with the visuals or the score. Sometimes it is simply inspired by life experiences, things I have seen or read, or even from my dreams at night.
The title of this week’s featured video, “The Prayer of Enki”, is inspired by accounts of our human beginnings written on clay tablets in cuneiform many thousands of years ago.
They tell the stories of the times before humans existed when the earth was populated by the Anunnaki…”Those who from Heaven to Earth came” (Nibiru to Earth).
Anunnaki are named for Anu, the king of Nibiru.
Anu’s two sons, Enlil and Enki were given dominion of the land and the waters of Earth respectively. Enki’s half sister Ninmah (Ninharsag) helped Enki to engineer humankind for the purpose of creating a slave labor force.
Enki was often at odds with his heartless brother Enlil, and is something of a good guy in the story who defies his brother’s decree to “allow humanity to perish in the deluge” and who secretly saves humanity. In much later times, he advocated for humanity to be saved from the great calamity advocated by his brother Enlil who intended to wipe out humanity using the seven “Weapons of Terror”. Sadly, he failed this time and had to witness the destruction of Sumer and six other great cities by nuclear explosions with their accompanying fallout, killing all who were downwind of “The Evil Wind”.
It is my opinion that given the translations I have read, that even the Anunnaki…especially with regard to the story of “Galzu: The Mysterious Divine Emissary”, that there was an acknowledged higher power - the “God of Creation”.
Knowing many of the ancient stories, I imagine the Anunnaki god, Enki, at more than one occasion in history said a prayer to the “God of Creation” for the salvation of humankind.
